Let’s get to know FlashLight Studios and the people behind it! FlashLight Studios is a team of two members, 11GG20 and Torr3sZIKA, who are making games together. Together they are capable of more, and in their opinion, the results are fantastic.
So far FlashLight Studios has built the CREYZY ARCADE game, which recently won Challenge the Devs builder challenge and received CREY superstar award.
What inspired you to create your game for Challenge the Devs builder challenge?
“We loved the theme, and we couldn’t leave this challenge blank. We started brainstorming, as soon as we could: what type of game it could be, what would be the goals, and who would do what. The feeling of darkness, loneliness, fear, and fun at the same time, was the main focus of our game. We were inspired by the famous Arcades, therefore, we decided to recreate some of the old games in CREY, like “1942 Fighter Assault“, “CUBE DODGE“, “Lumberjacks Legends” and “Super Miner“.”
Where and how did you get ideas for your project?
“We wanted to do something that could really challenge the Devs but doesn’t get tiring and includes several games. We had an idea of creating an Arcade, where there would be several machines with different games to choose from.”
What is your favorite game you have created in CREY? What type of games you like building the most?
“Our favorite game by FlashLight Studios is “The Last Thing Demo”. It is a game in a demo version that was released for an old challenge. It is also the first game by FlashLight Studios.”
What are your favorite things about CREY and its community?
“We consider CREY as a very innovative platform, although there are other engines with block programming, which are sometimes more developed than CREY, none of them can be as simple as CREY. Anyone can learn CREY very easily! In addition, CREY’s community is fantastic and very close and everyone is welcome.”
Can you share a few tips and tricks with other game builders at CREY on how to get started?
“In our opinion, the most important thing is to learn with commitment and willingness. Start with small and simple projects as tests. It helps to learn a lot! When you feel ready for something serious, we advise you to be organized. Drawing and writing can help with project planning. Use Trello board, to keep everything organized.”
Are there any exciting new projects you are working on at the moment?
“At the moment we are not working on any new projects, but we are planning to update and improve CREYZY ARCADE.”
