Meet the Builder: Squashi

Game builder Squashi is a young, high school student from Slovakia who recently built a game “You can’t beat this game” for Challenge the Devs builder challenge. Classical programming seems pretty boring for him, therefore, he always wanted to do graphical programming. Squashi thinks that it is a lot easier to understand, and the end result is better as well.

What inspired you to create your game for Challenge the Devs builder challenge?

“The fact that I can do it very easily. I just came back to CREY after a year-long pause, and everything has changed. The interface is a lot easier, and I quickly knew how to work in it and started to build games.”

Where and how did you get ideas for your project?

“I got my inspiration from many popular rage-quit games played by many popular youtubers.”

What type of games you like building the most?

“I like building games that look good, have a large landscape full of props. I try to push CREY engine to the maximum to get the best result.”

What are your favorite things about CREY and its community?

“I like the fact that anyone can create games easily and play them together with their friends.”

Can you share a few tips and tricks with other game builders at CREY on how to get started?

“Don’t get angry when something goes wrong or doesn’t work as intended. It’s programming after all. Try again and you will succeed!”

Are there any exciting new projects you are working on at the moment?

“I am currently working on an excavator simulator. It is quite complicated!”
