Show off your skills and your wits to win $1000!

Target Shot Challenge

This is Teddy.

Teddy has a gun.

Teddy likes to show off his marksmanship skills at the local shooting gallery. But he also likes solving word puzzles.

Lucky for him, he’ll get to do both in this week’s challenge! Step into the furry shoes of Teddy (which will be easy; he never wears them) and blast away in Target Shot – Challenge Edition!

How do I win?

Well, you need to play the game.

Every time you win 5000 points or more, you get a letter. The letter is random every time, so you will have to play several times to get all the letters. There are 9 letters in total.

The letters form a word. There are no two same letters in the word, and it is a common English word.

However, since the letters are shown to you randomly, you might get the same letter twice. In which case you’ll just have to play again.

Once you’ve got all the 9 letters, all you have to do is unscramble the letters — that is, put them in the correct order — and find the winning password.

Send that winning password to our community manager Frost, and he will pick a random winner (everything is random these days) from the first 5 people who get the right answer!

You must send the password via email! Do not write it on the Discord, do not post it on Reddit, do not strap a handwritten note to a pigeon and shove it off a roof. Email only!

If we see the password anywhere public, we’re calling the whole thing off. Play fair and everyone gets to have fun.

Also, you only get one guess! No twosies. No “I meant to say…”. One guess! So make it count!

Go, Teddy, go!

When does the challenge start/end?

The challenge starts Monday, May 2nd at the time of this blog post’s release.

It ends on Monday, May 9th at 15:00 CEST.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, we will draw a winner from the first 5 people who got the right password live on our Discord at 12:00 CEST.

What about glitches/exploits/bugs/etc.?

It’s no secret that we’ve had a lot of trouble with people finding undiscovered bugs and glitches in previous challenges, which has led to some very unhappy times in our community. No one wants an unhappy community. We want to have fun, build cool stuff, and keep as many happy players as possible.

So this time we’ve made sure that your score doesn’t matter. You may as well not bother with the leaderboard. The only thing we care about is the password.

How do I claim my prize?

For the minor inconvenience that is the $1000 prize, we need the following information (if you’re a non-Danish citizen):

  • Your bank’s name
  • Your own full name and address
  • IBAN no.
  • SWIFT code
  • A photo of yourself wearing a cowboy hat*

* (just kidding, we don’t actually need that… unless you really want to send us one)

Credit where credit is due

The Challenge Edition is based on the wonderful original game by Zivo. You can play that here.

Boring rules

To participate in this challenge, you must:

a) Be 13 years or older.

b) Have read and agreed to the avalanche of legal vomit we call Terms & Conditions.

c) Own a cowboy hat.*

* (again, we’re kidding… or are we?)

Dodge flying household appliances and rising sea water and win $1000!

Seascraper Neon Challenge

Meet our friend Guggleplux. Say hello, Gugs!

Gugs knows what’s coming.

Guggsen-jammer here is not terribly bright, and I think their superiors might know that, too.

That might explain why they’ve sent ’em to this doomed world that’s already in the throes of its own apocalypse — meaning, the sea level is rising fast, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

It’s only a matter of time before the water rises and ends you, and… you know…

But, hey, you might as well go out with a bang!

And what better bang than being in the draw for $1000 smackaroos?

(That’s the technical term, we promise; we’ve checked with industry specialists.)

Confused? Don’t worry. We’ll explain.

Why a draw? What is this, the county fair?!

This game is a time trial.

And it’s based on, let’s be honest, the luck of the draw. The buildings are procedurally generated, and no two game playing fields are the same.

Therefore, you might get a lucky roll from RNGesus, or you might get a really crappy roll from whoever takes care of the purgatorial punishments in your neck of the woods.

Isn’t this just Seascraper?

Yes, it is indeed Seascraper by tintwotin — here’s the original game — but this special Challenge Edition has some notable differences:

  • We made it all purple.
  • We changed the main character to this alien-looking dude.
  • We had him shoot out of the launch pad of an orbital spaceship. (No reason; it just looked cooler that way.)
  • There’s a bunch more crap flying around… and by “a bunch,” we mean a metric crap-ton.
  • We increased your jumping ability so you now have 3 jumps. Two for the price of one! Or however you wanna count that. We’re not your middle school math teacher.
  • Everything else is the same. Survive as long as you can; try to stay out of the soup. Yer boy can’t swim.

Why should I compete?

For a high score! No, wait, for the chance to win $1000 USD!

How do I compete?

PLAY THE GAME
(Look, seriously, our website thingyjiggy can’t make this any bigger. Here, let me say it again.)

PLAY…
THE…
GAME!!!

(That oughtta do it.)

The longer you stay alive, the longer you can spite your alien overlords.

But, more importantly, if you’re one of the top 5 scorers of this time trial, you are in the draw to win $1000!

When the challenge ends — on Monday, May 2nd at 15:00 CEST — we will do a live random drawing of the top 5 placements on the leaderboard, and that random lucky winner will walk away with $1000.

When does the challenge end?

Wuh… we just told you? Monday, May 2nd, 15:00 CEST. Nobody reads anymore, do they?

What happens if I win? How do I claim my prize?

We give you a pat on the back. And, also, $1000. But I think we can all agree the pat on the back is really what counts.

For the minor inconvenience that is the $1000 prize, we need the following information (if you’re a non-Danish citizen):

  • Your bank’s name (no, “square building down the street” will not do)
  • Your own full name and address (we promise not to pass this around to our marketing department)
  • IBAN no. (your bank knows what this is)
  • SWIFT code (your bank should also know what this is)
  • Your height, weight, and bone density (just kidding, we don’t actually need that; we just wanted to make sure you read all of that)

What’s the caveat?

Well, briefly, it’s–

Wait. What the hell is a caveat?

Ok. Now tell me what the caveat is.

Glad you asked.

To participate in this challenge, you must:

a) Be 13 years or older.

b) Have read this terrifying Terms & Conditions legal spew.

c) Understand that if we suspect any cheating or wrongful accumulation of high scores, we reserve the right to i) strip you of your winnings, and ii) publicly flog you in a very humiliating fashion*.

* Just kidding. Maybe.

March Player Challenge: Fastest Time Wins!

March Player Challenge 2022

Our “Player Challenge” for March runs from March 14, 2022 to March 31, 2022!

(I know, it might seem unnecessary to write 2022 behind each of those dates, but if some discombobulated time traveller happens to stumble upon this blog post years in the future and think they still have a shot at this, then I’m sorry to say they are very much mistaken.)

Massive thanks and congratulations to L.guttara for winning this month’s “Player Challenge” award. This is the mad, sadistic genius you can thank for this month’s hardcore time trial challenge.

Yes, it’s a speedrun! The fastest time wins! And you only have a little under three weeks to do it, so get grindin’!

We’ve cleared the board and made a special Challenge Edition version of the game. This is the version you need to set a time in in order to win the challenge!

This version will only be live as long as the challenge runs. The person with the fastest time on the leaderboard (with verifiable video proof!) by March 31, 2022 at 4 pm CET will be declared the winner.

What’s the prize?

What, beyond the sweet serotonin rush of beating this insane obstacle course? Well, sure. How about 1,000 DKK (~$150 USD)?

Note: You must provide valid bank account information to receive your reward. We cannot accept PayPal or wire transfers. For non-Danish participants, we need your bank’s name, your own full name and address, IBAN no., and SWIFT code.

Wait! A dev set a record time! I thought–

Yeah, I know. Sprite can’t help himself. Don’t worry, CREY employees aren’t eligible to win this.
